Achieving this goal is made possible by the utilization of variable-sized droplet technology, which produces a minimum ink droplet size of 3.8 picolitres (pl). In terms of print speed, in draft text mode, black documents can be printed at a rate of 33 pages per minute (ppm), while color printing can be produced at a rate of 20 ppm. Additionally, the ISO 24734 mode permits the printing of up to 20 images per minute (ipm) for black documents on A4 paper.
When using this mode for printing, single-sided or simplex printing can achieve a speed of 10 ipm, but color printing is slightly slower at 7.0 ipm while black printing remains at 10 ipm. The first page out time is approximately 7.0 seconds and 10.0 seconds for color and black documents, respectively.
If photo printing is needed, the print rate for bordered photos is around 44 seconds per photo, while borderless printing takes about 53 seconds.
The device employs a flatbed color image scanner for the scanning process, and is equipped with a contact image sensor (CIS) element to enhance its functionality. Its optical resolution can go up to 1200 x 2400 dpi, and it can scan an area of about 216 x 297 mm. When it comes to copying, the machine can produce up to 17 ipm for black and 9.0 ipm in simplex copy mode. Additionally, it has the capability to create 999 copies from a single original document when in standalone mode.
